Lynwood Alan Johnston - Bass, Vocals
Born under a wandering star, Lynwood Johnston was Kentucky
raised, but has been a rambler since he hit the ground. The son of a
career musician, and a Kentucky coal miner’s daughter, Lynwood had a
unique musical upbringing, which gave him an eclectic mix of tastes.
After years of roaming around he found himself in the heart of Kentucky
where he met bluegrass singer/songwriter Steve Bonaphel in a country
church.
"He took the time to share
with me his love for the music of the mountains, which is so pure,
real, and reminiscent of the life the mountaineers lived on the
frontier plateau of the Appalachian mountains, where moonshinin' and
gunfightin' were the two most popular careers choices of the day," says
Lynwood.
But the winds of adventure howled their restless tune into Lynwood’s
soul, and he again cast his shadow across the road, this time to wind
up in the small mountain town of Bozeman, Montana, where one winter
night he fell into a local dive to find a few boys pickin' familiar
tunes with a bluegrass instrumentation. After their approval of his
offer to pick up the bass, the last instrument to complete their
ensemble was added, and the Bridger Creek Boys were formed. The rest of
their tale is still in the making......
